親愛(ài)的瑞得福大家庭

Since the recent Parent Teacher Conference, we have witnessed many students embarking on new roads to goals and ambitions. RDF reminds students that such goals, if created with a great sense of determination and energy, will come to life.

自從上周的家長(zhǎng)會(huì)以來(lái)，我們見(jiàn)證了許多學(xué)生踏上追求目標(biāo)與抱負(fù)的新征程。我們想告訴大家，只要帶著堅(jiān)定的決心和飽滿的熱情去設(shè)定目標(biāo)、追尋目標(biāo)，這些目標(biāo)就一定能夠?qū)崿F(xiàn)。

I remind students to understand the difference between motivation and determination. A motivated goal is often a temporary trend in one's life. A deal set in one's mind grounded in determination stands a greater chance of fruition, as often mindsets form and solidify sets of priorities and incrementally build steps towards the greater goal. So, if you have great motivation and very big immediate goals, please be honest and ask yourself if your timeframe is realistic. If you determine it is, then go ahead and pursue it, even if others feel the plan is overambitious. If you wonder if it is possible, then step back and break the vision into smaller, more manageable steps. Then, take the first step and celebrate micro-goals along the way. If determined and logically organized, you will know that you have already scaffolded into the plan progressive checkpoints along the way.

我希望同學(xué)們能明白動(dòng)力和決心之間的區(qū)別。受一時(shí)動(dòng)力驅(qū)使而設(shè)定的目標(biāo)，往往只是人生中的一個(gè)短暫趨勢(shì)。而基于決心在內(nèi)心深處確立的目標(biāo)，則更有可能結(jié)出碩果，因?yàn)閳?jiān)定的決心往往會(huì)形成并鞏固一系列優(yōu)先事項(xiàng)，逐步朝著更大的目標(biāo)邁進(jìn)。所以，如果你有著強(qiáng)烈的動(dòng)力和宏大的近期目標(biāo)，請(qǐng)?zhí)拐\(chéng)地問(wèn)問(wèn)自己，你設(shè)定的時(shí)間框架是否現(xiàn)實(shí)。如果你認(rèn)定可行，那就勇往直前地去追求，即便他人不理解你的壯志雄心。如果你不確定是否可行，那就退一步，把這個(gè)愿景分解成更小、更易于實(shí)現(xiàn)的步驟。然后，邁出第一步，并在實(shí)現(xiàn)這些小目標(biāo)的過(guò)程中為自己喝彩。只要你下定決心并合理規(guī)劃，你就會(huì)發(fā)現(xiàn)，在這個(gè)計(jì)劃中，你已經(jīng)逐步建立起了一個(gè)個(gè)階段性的檢查點(diǎn)。

The main point is to dream and have visions. The critical point is to ask if these aspirations are really what are important to you, and then go off and attain them. Life is a journey and is only enriched with experiences. The experiences we work for and struggle to achieve are the ones that offer the greatest value in retrospection.

關(guān)鍵在于要敢于夢(mèng)想，擁有抱負(fù)。重要的是要問(wèn)問(wèn)自己，這些愿望是否真的對(duì)你至關(guān)重要，然后就放手去實(shí)現(xiàn)它們。人生是一場(chǎng)旅程，只有豐富的經(jīng)歷才能讓它充實(shí)起來(lái)。那些我們?yōu)橹^斗、拼搏達(dá)成的經(jīng)歷，在回首時(shí)才最具價(jià)值。

Let us know how we can help support your goals and visions; we are here for this. These recent weeks at RDF have been so celebratory, as each and every day of the week we are getting more and more acceptance letters from great institutes such as The University of Southern California and UCLA, to name a few. The University of Toronto has given many offers, amongst many other academic elites. This flow of offers is so inspirational and a testament to the greatness that comes out of RDF.

請(qǐng)讓我們知道如何才能幫助你實(shí)現(xiàn)目標(biāo)和愿景，我們（RDF）就是為此而存在的。最近幾周，瑞得福洋溢著歡慶的氛圍，因?yàn)槲覀兠恐艿拿恳惶於紩?huì)收到越來(lái)越多來(lái)自優(yōu)秀學(xué)府的錄取通知書(shū)，比如南加州大學(xué)和加州大學(xué)洛杉磯分校等等。多倫多大學(xué)也發(fā)放了許多錄取通知，還有眾多其他頂尖學(xué)府也紛紛傳來(lái)喜訊。這些源源不斷的錄取通知是如此鼓舞人心，也證明了從瑞得福走出的學(xué)生們的優(yōu)秀。

Coincidentally, this week at RDF, we have received representatives from USC, the University of Toronto, and Monash to meet students and speak to them. These opportunities are golden networking and information sessions. Although it is true that a person can look online at a university and see what they offer, there is nothing that can replace the valuable insights gained from a face-to-face conversation with official representatives.

巧合的是，本周南加州大學(xué)、多倫多大學(xué)和莫納什大學(xué)的教授和招生官們來(lái)到了瑞得福，與學(xué)生們見(jiàn)面交流。這些機(jī)會(huì)是絕佳的社交和信息獲取的場(chǎng)合。盡管人們確實(shí)可以在網(wǎng)上了解一所大學(xué)及其提供的課程，但沒(méi)有什么能取代與官方代表面對(duì)面交流所獲得的寶貴見(jiàn)解。

Moreover, the Dance Club organized the 7th annual dance competition, which was held this past week and was an outstanding success. The dance-off was a true spectacle for all in attendance, and we were moved by their moves. It was a fantastic display of talent, energy, and creativity, showcasing the incredible skills of our students.

此外，瑞得福舞蹈俱樂(lè)部組織了第七屆年度舞蹈比賽，比賽于周四舉行，取得了巨大的成功。這場(chǎng)舞蹈對(duì)決對(duì)于所有到場(chǎng)的觀眾來(lái)說(shuō)都是一場(chǎng)真正的視覺(jué)盛宴，舞者們的舞姿令我們?yōu)橹畡?dòng)容。這是一場(chǎng)才華、活力與創(chuàng)造力的精彩展示，彰顯了我們學(xué)生令人驚嘆的舞蹈技能。

And in closing, RDF is proud to be selected to represent life in China, in Shenzhen, in Dapeng by Dapeng New District Tourism Development and Culture & Sports Bureau. RDF gladly accepted the invitation, and no acting was required due to the genuine love of China and the excellent experiences all foreign staff feel they have here. The teachers and staff, specifically the foreign staff, all feel warmly welcomed wherever we go in China, and this is especially true in Dapeng. We want all respectful students and visitors of RDF to feel the same and feel warmly welcomed and part of the community.

最后，RDF很榮幸被大鵬新區(qū)官方選中，擔(dān)任深圳大鵬的生活風(fēng)貌代表。我們欣然接受了這一邀請(qǐng)，而且無(wú)需刻意表演，因?yàn)樗械耐饧搪毠ざ颊嫘臒釔?ài)中國(guó)，并且在這里擁有美好的經(jīng)歷。無(wú)論我們走到中國(guó)的哪個(gè)地方，老師們，尤其是外籍教職工，都感受到了熱烈的歡迎，在大鵬更是如此。我們希望所有瑞得福的學(xué)生和訪客也能有同樣的感受，感受到熱情的歡迎，并且成為這個(gè)大家庭的一員。
